Taipei Stadium

Project Overview
The 21st Summer Deaflympics held in Taipei in 2009 was the first deaflympics ever held in Asia, and in order to host the event, the city demolished its 50 year old municipal stadium and constructed a new one on the same site.
The 20,000 seat athletics stadium conforms to the international standard requirements for obtaining IAAF certification and in addition to the previously mentioned 2009 Deaflympics, the stadium also hosted athletics events for the 29th Summer Universiade held in Taipei in 2017.
Besides the stadium building itself, the project scope included a warm-up athletics field area, the nearby Taipei City Songshan Sports Center and peripheral business facilities.
The project won a Public Construction Golden Quality Award in 2009.
