Project Overview
The Regional Roads Development Project (RRDP) of Kalimantan Region is financed by a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and encompasses National Roads on International Corridors in two provinces in Kalimantan. The links lie on Trans island corridors and serve both inter-regional trade and local traffic.
The main objective of this Project is to support growth and reduce poverty by rehabilitating 379 kilometers of national roads in East and West Kalimantan.
To ensure that the rehabilitated roads do not deteriorate prematurely and to be able to secure sustainable benefits, the project also included measures to
-
reduce pavement damage caused by overloaded trucks,

strengthen the planning, programming and executing of maintenance, and
-
reduce the risk of accidents among roadside communities by raising levels of awareness of accident risk.
CECI was the lead firm of the Consultant Team responsible for:

Providing construction supervision for all civil engineering works implemented in West and East Kalimantan;

Reviewing design during implementation of the civil engineering works;

Providing support for engineers;
-
Providing general support in overall project management to all implementing agencies;

Monitoring and evaluating pre-contract activities;
-
Monitoring and reporting on the progress of all sub - projects.
