CECI Engineering Consultants, Inc., Taiwan, has become the first company in the domestic engineering industry to achieve the prestigious ISO 27001:2022 certification for Information Security, Cybersecurity, and Privacy Protection - Information Security Management Systems. The certification award ceremony took place on May 24, 2024, with CECI’s Chairman, Dr. Shih Yi-Fang, receiving the certificate from Mr. Otto Lin, Assistant Director of Business Solutions at the British Standards Institution (BSI), Taiwan branch.
Chairman Shih expressed his gratitude to BSI for their guidance throughout the certification process. He also extended special thanks to CECI’s Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President, Dr. Andrew Wang, for his dedication over the 16 months of rigorous preparation and implementation. Dr. Shih remarked, “Achieving ISO 27001:2022 certification on our first attempt is a significant milestone. For engineering consultants, implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS) and adhering to the highest security standards is crucial due to the increasing information security demands in public projects. It is also essential for earning and maintaining client trust. In recent years, we have excelled in operations, profitability, and turnover, and we are committed to elevating our information security standards to the level of aviation safety, which is to say that each institutional and technical aspect is geared to ensure a safe, secure and stable working environment, leading to enhanced productivity and project quality. Information security is a collective responsibility, and every employee must contribute to this effort. Achieving ISO 27001:2022 certification marks a new era for CECI, integrating information security into our core systems and technologies.”
Mr. Lin, Assistant Director of BSI’s Taiwan branch highlighted that the ISO 27001 standard, derived from BS 7799, was developed under BSI’s leadership. The latest 2022 version is one of the most stringent international standards in information security. He stated, “As the first engineering consulting firm in Taiwan to obtain the ISO 27001:2022 certification, CECI has demonstrated its strong commitment to prioritizing information security. BSI, a leader in global standards development and certification, has also introduced new standards like PAS 2080 for Carbon Management in Infrastructure and ISO 42001 for AI management to support organizations in digital transformation and sustainable development.” He congratulated CECI on their achievement and wished them continued success in information security and sustainable operations.
