April 9 was the start of a new era at CECI as Dr. Shih Yi-Fang began his tenure as the company’s Chairman of the Board. With over 30 years of experience in the civil engineering field in a number of key leading roles, Dr. Shih possesses the kind of profound depth and breadth of understanding of various complex issues facing the field today to lead CECI towards new great achievements, both domestically and on the international stage.
Speaking about his new role, Dr. Shih stressed his appreciation of its importance, and expressed confidence in CECI’s ability to continue fulfilling its ambition as Taiwan’s foremost engineering consultant. Assuming this important position is a very significant step, Dr. Shih said, he is prepared to work hard to uplift CECI’s already established reputation for excellence and outstanding quality to new heights.
On the subject of some of the major projects that CECI is currently working on – including the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 3 project, the 3rd LNG Receiving Terminal, and the Kinmen Cross-Sea Bridge – Chairman Shih reiterated the company’s strong commitment to the highest standards in both design and supervision, stringent quality and cost control, and efficient and timely project completion.
A native of Taiwan’s Changhua County, Dr. Shih Yi-Fang has spent all his career in civil engineering actively contributing to the growth and prosperity of the profession in a number of important positions, including as head of the Professional Civil Engineers Associations of Kaohsiung, New Taipei, Taipei, and Taiwan, Chairman of the Taiwan’s Arbitration Association, and Member of the Legislative Yuan. He is well known in Taiwan not only for promoting best engineering technology and practices, but more broadly as an advocate of improving people’s life through public infrastructure, and being attuned to the needs and expectations of Taiwan’s people.
