Project Overview

CECI's first experience in carrying out rapid transit engineering consulting services outside of Taiwan was for the Design and Construction of Underground Works on the Central Secretariat — Qutub Minar Corridor of Phase II of Delhi Mass Rapid Transit System (Contract BC-16).

 

The Contract BC-16 is a design and build project and covers a total length of 5.26 km, including 4.1 km of twin tunnels and four underground stations. 

 

The scope of work included:

  • 4 km of twin tunnels with internal diameter of 5.8m bored by 4 TBMs.​

  • Structural part of four underground stations and associated structures,

  • Four cross passages for running tunnels.

 

CECI carried out the preliminary and detailed design works of work shafts and tunnels which included 

 

  • alignment modification,

  • permanent structure of work shafts,

  • building protection,

  • tunnel segment linings,

  • cross passages and sumps,

  • bracing system,

  • temporary works and risk assessment, etc., as well as

  • technical advisory services during construction.
