Project Overview

The Design Lot DF112 Project is part of the future Circular line, or Yellow Line, which is the next line expected to start operation on the TRTS (in 2019). Similar to the Brown Line, the Yellow Line is a driverless system, although the Yellow line's train uses steel wheels unlike the Brown line's rubber-tyred wheels.

 

The Yellow Line is being implemented in phases in which Phase I extends for a length of 15.4 kilometers and has 14 stations passing through a number of districts of New Taipei City and connecting with the TRTS Green Line, Orange Line, Blue Line and Taoyuan Metro Purple (Taoyuan Airport) Line.  

The project works for this Design Lot DF112 Project is comprised of viaducts crossing from the Zhonghe District of New Taipei City to the South End of Banqiao District in New Taipei City and having a total length of 6.34 kilometers.

Among the viaduct structures, there are 1.9 kilometer long viaducts located above the Bali-Xintian Elevated Expressway, which is also known as the common-use section. This section utilizes a 3 meter gap between two viaducts as a construction site for the piers.

From Stations Y8 to Y14, there are seven elevated steel stations in the project, including three interchange stations.

 

Numerous challenges were presented and successfully overcome in this project which had to work around cramped elevated structures and congested construction space.
